Ear Candling (or coning), although becoming very popular in recent years, is actually an ancient healing modality dating as far back as biblical times when hollow reeds from water ways were used. The process had been lost from common knowledge for many years, but has come into practice again and is being used by a wide cross section of people.
Much gentler and less invasive than "modern" remedies used to remove excessive ear wax and other hearing blocks. The "candle" is now made of cotton or muslin and paraffin or bees wax and resembles a large tapered straw. The top end is lit that creates a vacuum or chimney which draws excess wax and impurities into the candle to be disposed of. Sessions have been known to help sinus problems, sore throat, earache, chronic headaches, swimmer's ear, allergies, hearing difficulties and more. There is no discomfort involved with this procedure and most people report that their treatments feel calming and nurturing. Ear candling is absolutely safe and generally appropriate for all ages.
Our workshop is a combination of discussion, history, safety, contraindications, how to put a "ear candling kit" together, preparation, step by step instruction and hands-on experience. Each participant will have the opportunity to be "candled" and to "candle" and we will demonstrate both popular methods. We will cover everything you need to know so that you can conduct a safe and professional session.

What to bring:
- 2 large bath towels
- sharp scissors (sm. herb type are great)
- tablet/pen
- wear comfortable loose clothing
- please have nails that are manicured short for facial massage
- packed lunch or you may purchase something on our lunch break
